Rain Bird / Watering & irrigation

Rain Bird PSIM30X075 30 PSI Medium-Flow Regulator

The PSIM30X075 is a nominal 30 psi inline regulator with three-quarter-inch female NPT connections. Its minimum flow needs particular attention: Rain Bird’s store lists 3–10 GPM, while its corporate inline-regulator page lists 2–10 GPM for PSI-M30X-075. That manufacturer-source difference is unresolved here. A circuit between 2 and 3 GPM needs confirmation before purchase; a circuit below 2 GPM falls below both published ranges. Compare the flow through the outlets that actually run together, converting gallons per hour to gallons per minute. The pressure setpoint does not make this device a pump: it cannot raise low incoming pressure to 30 psi, and the required inlet-to-outlet differential must be checked for the installation. Choose connections by NPT standard as well as nominal size. This is a regulator only, with filtration, backflow protection and a complete circuit layout still separate decisions.

Tradeoffs & verification notes

Manufacturer sources disagree on minimum flow: store 3 GPM, corporate 2 GPM; confirm the exact model revision.

Regulation cannot raise insufficient incoming pressure; a listed inlet range alone does not prove a 30 psi outlet.

The 3/4-inch female NPT ports require matching fittings; hose-thread labeling is a different connection standard.

Published range comparisons do not establish downstream pressure after line losses and elevation changes.

Our research standard
